Accounting is the process of recording, classifying, summarizing, and interpreting financial transactions to provide valuable information for decision-making, control, and reporting purposes. It helps businesses, governments, and individuals understand their financial positions, track performance, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Many accounting majors will pursue a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license to pursue a career as a CPA.
